Richard Gaines
Pastor
Gaines was born in Tyler, Texas, and he is the youngest of seven children.
After graduating from high school, he attended Stephen F. Austin State
University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing.
After
nearly ten years in Corporate America, Pastor Gaines acknowledged his call into
the gospel ministry, and was licensed to preach at First Baptist Church of
Chesterfield, Missouri. He was later ordained by First Baptist Church of
Jeffersontown, Kentucky, and he received his Master of Divinity degree from The
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS)
In
1996, God called Pastor Gaines to Consolidated Baptist Church in Lexington,
Kentucky, and he has faithfully served this congregation and the community.
Because of God’s favor and Pastor Gaines’ heart for evangelism, Consolidated
has experienced tremendous growth and additional staff members, ministries, and
facilities have been added to allow the church to holistically minister to
those inside and outside of the congregation.
Pastor
Gaines is happily married to the former Sarah A. Barnett of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is a graduate of Howard University and the University of Kentucky. They
have been blessed with one son, Micah Richard. He is a graduate of the
University of Kentucky and Virginia Union University, and he is also a preacher
of the Gospel and a gifted musician.
